When I first heard of this movie I was intrigued at the fact that it was rated R for an animation movie. Probably a first for most people. I heard people say how the movie wasn’t funny and they were unimpressed with it but that rarely changes my personal view on things. So I went to see the movie with my girlfriend.
I thought the movie was hilarious and very well written. It had witty humor and I liked how they made the “Great Beyond” as a metaphor for heaven and religion. They make fun of every religion and ethnicity in the movie like a flatbread is supposed to be someone from the middle east fighting with a bagel, who is supposed to be jewish and have them fighting which was a metaphor for the israeli-palestinian conflict.
There were a bunch of puns throughout the entire movie if you watch closely like what the food products were saying depending on what they are. It was very clever. All in all as I want to wrap this up and don’t really care that much for writing these blogs I would recommend anyone this movie as long as you’re not the type of person to get offended with jokes. But then again I may have bias as I like the type of comedy that Seth Rogen is usually in. So basically if you don’t like it then you’re not really a funny person.
